Foster homes & emergency foster homes wanted
Description
Trygga Familjehem i Sverige AB is now looking for families/single individuals who want to help children & young people aged 0-20. We are looking for both foster homes and emergency foster homes,
Being an emergency foster home or a foster home.
Being a foster home is interesting, challenging and above all rewarding! It is about opening the doors to your home, your family, your everyday life and offering security, guidelines, rules and above all a lot of joy and heart as well as a desire to share your life.
This naturally entails a major challenge and requires a clear ambition to succeed. This ambition must be shared by all members of the family, and a shared view of what the assignment involves is of great importance. It is of course true that everyone is affected when a new individual moves in and becomes part of the family. Note that a single person can also be an emergency foster home or foster home.
The most important thing is that you have a genuine interest in helping a child/young person to a better life. You must also be able to cooperate with all parties around the placed child/young person, such as school, social worker, foster home consultants and others.
To manage a placement, you need a little extra of everything; space, time and ability! Our requirements for you to start a foster home assessment include, among others:
- That you do not appear in the police criminal and suspicion register, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency's register regarding longer periods of illness, the Swedish Enforcement Authority's register, or the social register for the past five years
- That there is an available bedroom that can be offered to the placed child, without anyone in the family having to give up their bedroom. Note that shared spaces do not count as bedrooms.
- That your housing is permanent, meaning you do not sublet, are a lodger or similar. The housing is fully furnished and homely.
- That you are fully healthy and able to work
- That you have a stable income and livelihood
- That at least one of you has time for meetings with social services and us foster home consultants
- That you do not have any major upcoming changes in life, such as moving, longer trips, new studies, pregnancy or similar
- That you have a good command of the Swedish language
Trygga Familjehem supports, supervises and educates
As a foster home, you will receive Trygga Familjehem's basic training for foster homes. The aim is to make the placement as good as possible for the placed child and for the foster home. Our consultants are always close at hand for ongoing supervision and training for the family during the placement. Your foster home consultant visits you regularly, and you work closely together on everything concerning the placed child, such as implementation plans and contacts with authorities. You have round-the-clock support by telephone for whatever question it may be. Trygga Familjehem's working method and approach are to be available and provide support, help, ideas and motivation!
Good financial compensation
Opening your home to a child, young person or young adult is not about money, but about helping someone who needs a secure and stable existence. But you should still receive solid compensation for the work you do.
The compensation is paid in two parts: an expense allowance of approximately SEK 6,500/month to cover food, clothing, travel, etc., and a fee portion for the work you perform.
The fee varies from SEK 26,000/month and upwards depending on the complexity of the placement.
