About the job - Transport and care of the deceased

When a person dies, the body must be transported in a dignified and safe manner. This may involve collection from the place of death to the nearest morgue or transport to Forensic Medicine for examination.

As a transporter with us, you become part of the entire chain surrounding the care of the deceased. The work is always done in teams of two, where you alternate between driver and assistant. You collaborate closely with authorities, municipal residences, and external residences.

Working hours are varied and the workload can fluctuate between high-intensity periods and calmer periods.

You work in an on-call group where you start from your home according to a schedule, and we prefer that you are resident within Gothenburg.

Job duties

• Transport and care of the deceased
• Collaboration with authorities, healthcare personnel, and relatives

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent
• B driver's license (required) and confident in driving larger vehicles
• Basic computer skills
• No criminal record and not present in the criminal record register (check is performed in accordance with the requirements of the Police Authority)
• Good physical condition and stable mental state as the work can be both physically demanding and mentally taxing

Meritorious

• Experience in transports of deceased
• Experience from healthcare, care, transport, or other service-oriented activities such as ambulance services, rescue services.
