About the role

As an Electronics & Systems Engineer in Programs & R&D, you are responsible for the development, integration, and verification of electronic systems and control functions for future automotive applications. Your focus is to ensure innovative, robust, and cost-effective solutions that meet the industry's highest demands for functionality, quality, and sustainability.

You belong to the Research and Development (R&D) department and report directly to the Senior Manager R&D.

Key responsibilities and tasks

  • System Design & Architecture: Develop electronic solutions and system architectures, focusing on integrating both innovative technology and existing market solutions ("off-the-shelf") into future products.
  • Requirements Management & Collaboration: Define and specify requirements for hardware, software, and interfaces in close collaboration with other development functions.
  • Simulation & Testing: Conduct simulations, PCB design, and testing of electronic systems and components.
  • Embedded Systems & Sensors: Work with embedded systems, sensors, ECUs, and lighting applications.
  • Verification & Quality: Responsible for verification and validation in accordance with applicable automotive standards. Perform risk assessments, robustness analyses, troubleshooting, and root cause analyses.
  • Collaboration & Documentation: Collaborate closely with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to ensure technical feasibility. Document complex results and standardize system solutions.
  • Technology Monitoring: Participate in external networks and conferences to monitor and stay at the forefront of technological developments.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Master of Science or Master's degree (preferably PhD) in Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Practical experience with test and verification methods for electronic systems.
  • Good knowledge of embedded systems, control systems, signal processing, and communication protocols for vehicles.
  • Experience with relevant automotive standards in your field.
  • Good understanding of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and robust design.
