Lead Engineer to Färgelanda
Description
We are looking for an entrepreneurial Lead Engineer who is driven to convert inquiries and designs into smart, manufacturable products.
About the role
As a Lead Engineer with us at Artifex, you will have a technically leading key role with responsibility for driving product development, technical changes, and product launches all the way into production. You will lead a dedicated team of 7 people (both employees and consultants) towards set project goals.
The focus is on product development of plastic and purchased items, where one of the larger projects right now is the development of a new cab for a truck. The role is based at our unit in Färgelanda, and since a strong local presence is required, you probably need to live in the nearby area.
Your main tasks
- Project & Team Leadership: Lead and allocate work for the internal engineering team. You ensure that the team delivers well-developed products according to timeline, budget, and quality requirements.
- Product Development & Manufacturing: Staff projects and inquiries, ensure that products are robust and optimized for assembly, tools, and production. You also perform feasibility studies in CAD.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Act as the spider in the web and the link between customers, external suppliers, and our internal tooling and manufacturing specialists.
- Business support: Prepare technical preparations for quotation stages (RFQ) and support the process so that all costs are identified before the quote is sent to the customer.
Who are you?
We are looking for an unpretentious team player who thrives in a broad, entrepreneurial environment rather than in divided silos. You have a strong drive, well-developed collaboration skills, and communicate effortlessly with people at all levels – from production to end customer.
Requirements and wishes:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, plastics engineering, automotive engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in the automotive industry, preferably in interiors.
- Solid experience in project work and product launches (preferably APQP processes).
- Good understanding of plastic materials, drawing reading, geometry, and reference systems.
- Basic knowledge of CATIA to perform simple studies and reviews.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written, as it is our primary business language (Swedish is a strong merit).
- Ability to travel within Sweden to support customers and suppliers on-site.
What we offer
- Culture: A dynamic and cross-functional work environment with short decision-making paths and ample room for personal initiative.
- Salary: Monthly salary
- Working hours: Normal daytime
- Benefits: Wellness allowance & reduced working hours
Practical information & Application
- Location: Färgelanda.
- Start: According to agreement.
