Description

Now there is an opportunity to become part of our established and competent team with low staff turnover. We are primarily looking for teachers in geography and social studies, but other subject combinations may also be of interest. At Mimers, teachers have long experience, high subject competence, several teachers with PhDs, and extensive knowledge of pedagogical work with adolescents with various diagnoses within the autism spectrum.

We are looking for a new colleague as one of our team members is moving on to other challenges after 12 years. The position is full-time and includes mentorship. Teaching will be across the SA, NA, and IMA programs with groups of about 10 students. Students' school days are between 08:30-15:00 and teachers have school holiday employment.

We work intensively to find teaching models and develop a clarifying pedagogical approach that suits our students, and there are great opportunities to influence working methods and approaches. Our students need help structuring their studies, and you will be supported in teaching by an established team including a special education teacher, counselors, and experienced, trained resource teachers. Among your colleagues are licensed and experienced pedagogues in the aforementioned subjects who have worked in the organization for a long time.

You should appreciate close collaboration with your colleagues and have a strong interest and commitment to the school's students. You should also be interested in pedagogical development, as we spend a lot of time finding the path to each student's learning. The school works with a digital learning platform to facilitate and develop pedagogy as well as create structure and clarity. Therefore, experience with digital tools such as Office 365 is also a merit. Our students need to interact with as few people as possible during their school day. This means a small organization where we work closely with each other and our students, making employees' personal qualities very important.

Many of our students face difficulties with traditional teaching. Therefore, we are looking for an innovative and creative educator interested in developing new strategies in teaching. Someone who is responsive to students' needs. It is meritorious if you have training in the autism spectrum (ASD) or documented experience working with our student group, beyond meeting individual students with ASD in regular classes.

Mimers upper secondary school in Täby is a smaller private school with a special educational profile for students with diagnoses within the autism spectrum (primarily Asperger's syndrome, ADHD, ADD, and high-functioning autism). The school has two college preparatory programs (SA and NA) and an introductory program, and offers a calm and pleasant work environment in bright, airy premises near public transport. Teaching groups are usually between 8-10 students. Teachers and other staff at the school have extensive knowledge and experience in both the autism spectrum and their teaching subjects. A small organization with short decision-making paths provides flexibility in operations. The school's spirit is characterized by clear leadership with great openness and responsiveness, as well as good opportunities to influence the work situation. The school invests in employee well-being and competence development. Those who work with us should feel seen, appreciated, and well treated.
