Description

Do you want to work in a values-driven organization with flexible hours, short decision paths, close collaboration among colleagues, and the opportunity to influence how we work and develop? Are you an experienced economist who enjoys working closely with the business and believes that finance should create meaning and is as much about people, relationships, and wise decisions as it is about numbers? Then this might be the right assignment for you.

About the Position

We are looking for someone who wants to contribute to creating structure, security, and overview in a smaller private business where finance is seen as a tool for making sustainable decisions and creating good conditions for people to do a good job.

WiseMind is a smaller psychology and training organization. We are now seeking an experienced economist for a part-time position corresponding to approximately 20 percent, with the opportunity to shape the role together with us based on the organization's needs and your expertise.

Perhaps you are a tech-interested economist who has retired but still wants to work a few hours a week doing something that feels fun, developing, and meaningful. Or you are in a completely different phase of life and looking for a part-time assignment where you can use your experience in a way that makes a real difference.

We believe you appreciate the variety and proximity found in a smaller company, where you can use both your experience, judgment, and creativity. Our pleasant office is located in central Gothenburg, and it is an advantage if we can meet you as a colleague on site, but personal suitability is more important than where you are located.

Tasks

  • Manage and develop simple and sustainable routines for invoices, budgeting, forecasts, and follow-ups
  • Support management and colleagues in understanding and monitoring the organization's finances
  • Contribute to financial planning and follow-ups according to an annual cycle and at a level appropriate for a smaller organization
  • Prepare and present financial documentation that helps the organization make wise decisions
  • Support the organization in maintaining good principles and routines in HR
  • Provide support in processes related to salary setting and other personnel-related issues
  • Identify opportunities for simplification, automation, and streamlining of administrative processes
  • Explore how AI and digital tools can be used to free up time from repetitive tasks so that people have more space for relationships, quality, and business development.

The role does not involve creating extensive micro-management or administration for its own sake. Rather, we are looking for someone who helps us find the right level – sufficient structure and follow-up for the organization to function well, without creating unnecessary complexity.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for someone with several years of experience in financial work and a good understanding of the conditions in private business, preferably in small or medium-sized companies.

You thrive in both a executing and advisory role, combining financial expertise with a business-oriented perspective.

We would like you to:

  • Have relevant education and solid experience in finance
  • Enjoy budget work, forecasts, and financial follow-ups
  • Have knowledge of or interest in HR issues and salary processes
  • Be curious about digitalization, automation, and AI
  • Appreciate working in a small organization where tasks sometimes cross traditional responsibility areas
  • Enjoy collaborating and building good relationships.
  • It is an advantage if you have experience working in consulting, healthcare, or other knowledge-intensive companies.

Working With Us

Those of us who work at WiseMind believe that a job should be fun, safe, and developmental, providing opportunities for variety, learning, and social community. Together, we want to create smart and socially beneficial services and ways of working that make a real difference.

By being part of a smaller company, you constantly develop new skills and find solutions together with your colleagues, regardless of how long you have been working.

The organization strives to be self-managing and is inspired by principles from so-called Teal organizations. We work with shared responsibility, transparency, and collective leadership rather than traditional hierarchy. We encourage a culture of warmth, engagement, trust, and initiative. For us, this means that everyone working here feels responsible for the whole and is comfortable going from thought to action when it comes to improving and contributing – both in small and large ways.

We can discuss the arrangement based on the organization's needs and your wishes.

Start around September 2026.
