Description

About the school

Uppsala Musikklasser started its operations in 1982 and today has over 520 students in grades 3-9 with a focus on choir or orchestra. In addition to music, the school is characterized by good academic results and high safety. The school has about 50 employees and is a non-profit independent school with the Uppsala Musikklasser Foundation as its principal. The school is currently located in a beautiful school building on Seminariegatan. We are now looking for an experienced teaching assistant who can also act as a substitute teacher.

With us, you help create a school where all students are given the opportunity to achieve the educational goals and where learning is perceived as meaningful, stimulating, enjoyable, and safe.

About the position

You will work together with teaching teachers with the goal of removing obstacles to students' learning. You become a safe adult for the students in your vicinity and facilitate transitions and social interaction throughout the school day. You work closely with the school's special education teacher and other student health team with a focus on younger students, and time at after-school care is therefore part of the assignment.

The position is a seasonal position at 80%.

Qualifications

You take responsibility for your tasks and contribute to a permissive environment where you dare to make mistakes, ask for help, and learn from your mistakes. You work well with others and relate to them in a perceptive and flexible manner. You listen and communicate empathetically and constructively. You create good and sustainable relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians.

Experience working with students with autism spectrum conditions and ADHD is a requirement.
