Childcare Worker for Parent Cooperative Polarna

In Guldheden, Gothenburg, lies the Parent Cooperative Polarna, a small preschool with great commitment. There is a group of 17 children and a team of two childcare workers, two preschool teachers, and an accessible principal.

At Polarna, we give children time. There is an opportunity to work closely with children, build safe relationships, and see each child's needs. We often work in smaller groups and base our approach on children's interests, play, and curiosity. We work on projects with different themes, letting the children's interests and needs guide the theme. We regularly make excursions to the forest, the library, theaters, and other places in the nearby area and Gothenburg.

We are a parent cooperative where staff, principal, and parents work closely together with clear responsibilities and roles. Parents are engaged in the cooperative's board and are responsible for cleaning, outdoor environment, and indoor environment, while educators and the principal are responsible for the pedagogical daily life with the children.

About the location

Polarna is located in Guldheden, with good connections to central Gothenburg and just a few minutes' walk from tram number 10. The area has plenty of playgrounds, green spaces, and excursion destinations.

Duties

As a childcare worker with us, you play an important role in the team. Together with your colleagues, you are responsible for ensuring that children have a safe, educational, and developing daily life.

Your tasks include:

• being close to children in play, care, and learning
• taking responsibility for smaller groups of children
• leading gatherings and activities
• participating in planning, reflection, and evaluation
• having the opportunity to utilize your individual strengths
• contributing to good collaboration with colleagues and guardians
• booking, planning, and conducting development talks

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with experience working in preschool, preferably as a childcare worker. You are a person who sees what needs to be done and takes responsibility for getting it done. You work carefully and with consideration, while also being able to make things work in a dynamic and changing environment.

You are a team player who contributes to a warm and professional work climate. It is advantageous if you have experience conducting development talks and feel confident in dialogue with guardians regarding children's development.
