Our Vision

Västerhaninge Montessoriskola should be the obvious choice for students and staff, as well as an educational role model for other schools. We aim to be a school where every student is seen, feels safe, and finds joy in knowledge and learning, and achieves their goals.

We are a small school located in central Västerhaninge with proximity to commuter trains and buses.

Knowledge, Well-being, and Safety

Västerhaninge Montessoriskola Ugglan is a Montessori-inspired school run by a parent cooperative since 1996. Everyone knows each other here - both children and adults - and we strive for a calm, respectful, and stimulating school environment where every child can grow at their own pace.

At Ugglan, we work based on Maria Montessori's ideas that children want to, can, and have an inherent desire to learn. Every child is unique and has the right to develop on their own terms. At Ugglan, children take part in the responsibility for their learning by actively participating in planning and evaluation. Freedom to choose activities and the opportunity to work undisturbed at their own pace are two of the most important conditions in the pedagogy. This provides peace to work and makes learning more enjoyable.

Ugglan is a small school with a strong focus on knowledge and safety. Our staff consists of educators who appreciate working together with students and guardians to create the best education. During joint activities, students interact across age groups, and we believe that through a strong sense of community and an environment where all staff see every child, we help our students develop as far as possible based on their own conditions. Here, children get to be children a little longer.

The atmosphere is familial, and we all work together for students' knowledge development, social development, safety, and well-being.

We are now looking for a primary school teacher for grades F-3.

You see, challenge, and support our students in their knowledge development to reach as far as possible. You recognize the importance of solid and early reading and writing instruction and use the learning environment as an important part of the educational work. You will be part of a team you work closely with, and you will have close collaboration with the school's teachers and other educators. We strive for all educational staff to have joint professional development days where all employees are part of the collective quality work.

Qualifications:

- We are looking for someone with a teaching degree (primary school teacher for grades F-3).

- You have documented experience working with reading and writing instruction.

Personal qualities:

- You are curious about Montessori pedagogy and experience with that approach is a merit.

- You are engaged, professional, proactive, and a good team player.

- You have good collaboration skills, clarity, and sensitivity in an independent role, and can plan, organize, and execute your tasks together with others.

- You take responsibility for your work tasks; plan, structure, and prioritize work effectively with good results.

- You have the ability to motivate and be communicative.

- You are perceptive and have a good understanding of how people acquire knowledge and can adapt your way of conveying messages to the recipient.

- You see opportunities in change and can adjust to altered circumstances.

- You have good communication skills both orally and in writing.

- Digital competence.

Building positive relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues comes naturally to you.

You create a good learning environment based on modern Montessori pedagogy that is inspiring and enjoyable for students.

You have good collaboration skills and enjoy working in a team, while also being able to plan and work independently.

You are passionate about contributing to others' learning and create conditions for enjoyable learning to take place.

You can balance different demands and remain calm in difficult situations.

Other important abilities for you are being able to create a good working climate, having low-stress interactions, and appreciating working with people.
