At Sånghusvallens F-6 school in Ås, there are about 200 students. We work in close collaboration to create holistic solutions for students. The work is based on the student's opportunity for development and learning throughout the day. We are now looking for a leisure time teacher who has a passion for supporting and developing each child's unique potential. You will play a central role in creating an inspiring and safe learning environment where students can grow and develop.

The Children and Education Administration has about 800 employees. The administration's operations extend throughout the municipality and include preschool, compulsory school F-9, adapted compulsory school, leisure time centers, food and cleaning services, mother tongue instruction, and library activities.

A day as a leisure time teacher at Sånghusvallens Primary School

We have two leisure time departments, Ekorren and Kojan, and you will work closely with your colleagues. Thinking based on the student's entire school day, seeing opportunities instead of obstacles, and having a view of students where the basic attitude is that children want to succeed are important for you to thrive with us. Our senior teacher in the leisure time center drives continuous development for the entire leisure time group based on the goals our school has, where relationships and warmth are of great importance together with the students' development.

Teaching and stimulating students based on municipal and national goals is the main task of the work. Inspiring, motivating, and awakening curiosity in students to seek the knowledge they need on their own is another important part of the work, as well as supporting students in their personal development.

Other important tasks as an educator are to notice development needs and drive the development of activities towards set goals, and to contribute to the school's development. There are great opportunities for you to use your knowledge and experience to further develop the working methods of the activity together with your colleagues.

Your competence

You who apply have a degree as a leisure time teacher with eligibility and certification for the leisure time center.

You are well familiar with the school's governing documents and can implement them in daily work.

We place great importance on your interest in participating in development work and your ability to collaborate. You see the work team as a resource and it is natural for you to contribute positively to solving common tasks.

You are a calm, secure, and empathetic person who enjoys collaborating, which is crucial for succeeding in the role as a leisure time teacher and having good relationships with students, parents, and other staff.

The position is a permanent employment at 100% with start date 2026-08-03. The form of employment is a vacation-based position.
