About Agera Värmland
Agera Värmland is a politically and religiously independent association whose purpose is to promote human rights and to ensure that democratic ideas are guiding in all areas of society. Our operations cover the entire Värmland region, and the office is located in Karlstad.
The activities include an anti-discrimination bureau tasked with preventing discrimination through courses and seminars, opinion formation, and providing advice and support to individuals who feel discriminated against or have questions about discrimination.
We also work to prevent violent extremism through educational activities and collaboration with the region's municipalities and other actors in the field.
We are now looking for a project assistant for our Inheritance Fund project "Sports against Extremism," which aims to strengthen preventive work against violent extremism within the sports movement. The project is in its second year of three and runs until the turn of the year 2028.
About the role
As a project assistant, you will become an important part of the work within the "Sports against Extremism" project. The role involves planning and implementing educational initiatives together with the project developer, collaborating with associations and other actors, and contributing to the project's development and implementation. The work is varied and combines education, collaboration, and knowledge dissemination on issues related to democracy and preventive work against violent extremism.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is committed to issues concerning democracy, inclusion, and preventive work. You are pedagogical, resourceful, and thrive in a role where you meet different people and build relationships with associations, young people, and collaborative partners.
You have good collaboration skills and can also work independently and in a structured manner. The role requires you to be flexible, responsible, and confident in leading training sessions, facilitating discussions, and creating engagement around societal issues that can sometimes be complex and sensitive.
We also believe you have a solution-oriented approach and enjoy contributing to development in projects and operations.
Requirements
- Relevant university degree in, for example, social sciences, education, social work, or another field deemed relevant by the employer, or other experience deemed equivalent
- Experience in project work, collaboration, or development work
- Experience in planning and conducting workshops, training sessions, or group activities
- Knowledge of democracy issues, human rights, or preventive work
- Good ability to express yourself orally and in writing in Swedish
- Ability to work independently and in a structured manner
- Driver's license B
Meritorious
- Experience from the non-profit sector or organizational life
- Knowledge of violent extremism or preventive work against radicalization
- Experience in method development, project management, or project administration
- Experience in opinion formation or knowledge dissemination
