Description

– A Job with Room for Growth!

Do you thrive in a varied workday where, together with your team, you produce high-quality drinking water and handle wastewater in an environmentally sound manner at the municipality's water and wastewater facilities? Are you independent and solution-focused? Then you might be the plant operator we are looking for!

Welcome to us!

You will come to a workplace with a strong sense of community and pride in our vital societal mission. We value our employees and invest in participation, development, and a balance between work and leisure. We offer, among other things, wellness hours or a wellness allowance and the possibility of exchanging vacation days for extra pay.

In the water and wastewater department, employees work with great competence and experience. It is a good group with commitment to both the job and the municipality's development, as well as to each other. The water and wastewater department has newly renovated and functional facilities to operate from, and the break room is a natural gathering place where it is easy to find topics of conversation both within and outside the water and wastewater field.

The municipal executive administration supports three committees: the Municipal Executive Board, the Building and Environment Committee, and the Community Development Committee. The administration employs about 135 employees and is divided into the areas of staff, building and environment, and community development and growth, where the water and wastewater department is included.

A day as a Plant Operator at Krokom Water

In your role as a Plant Operator, your main tasks involve the operation and maintenance of our water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, reservoirs, and booster stations. The work includes facility maintenance with weekly rounds, monitoring equipment and processes in control and monitoring systems, as well as planned and emergency maintenance of equipment, machinery, and facilities. You will work with troubleshooting in daily operations but also during acute operational disturbances that require decisiveness and sometimes quick decisions made in collaboration with supervisors and the operations manager. It is a varied and at times physically demanding job that includes everything from pump lifts to water sampling and procurement of services and equipment.

Safety and work environment are very important since tasks such as handling chemicals and tasks requiring fall protection equipment are included in the job duties. You contribute by carefully following work environment regulations, using protective equipment, and reporting and eliminating risks in the operations. As a Plant Operator, you work both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues. Through participation and responsibility, you contribute to the development of the operations.

You actively participate in training, seminars, and other activities that can develop both you, our department, and our facilities. Additionally, you will be involved in systematically developing and improving our working methods. We offer freedom under responsibility and are happy to invest in your future development.

As a Plant Operator, in addition to daily operations, you have a strategic role in the work to renew and improve the municipality's water and wastewater facilities. We are a relatively small organization where everyone works closely together, and we value each other's experiences and competencies. We are a service organization where our customers are important. We collaborate with other departments within the municipality and with other municipalities.

Your Competence

We are looking for someone with post-secondary education in the field or experience that the employer considers equivalent.

Education or experience in the operation and maintenance of water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, or similar facilities, water and wastewater processes, HVAC, or electrical and automation is considered meritorious. It is also an advantage if you have good computer and system skills.

You are structured and have good verbal and written communication skills. You are proficient in Swedish. We value that you are interested and curious about new knowledge, are thorough, positive, and committed.

We place great emphasis on your personal qualities and are looking for someone with good collaboration skills, initiative, service orientation, a sense of responsibility in independent work, and commitment to your own and the group's tasks.

With us, you will become an important part of the entire department, where we take responsibility and contribute to the whole for the best of the water and wastewater collective. There is a good sense of community where we support and help each other succeed.

The position requires a category B driver's license.
