Hotel Skansen is located in Färjestaden on Öland, just after the bridge. We are a hotel, spa, conference, and restaurant facility in constant development – we aim higher and work to be the obvious choice on Öland.

With us you will find:

• 78 hotel rooms
• Several conference venues (up to approximately 250 guests)
• Spa area with pool and relaxation
• Restaurant and party hall

About the Role

As a janitor with us, you play a key role in ensuring everything runs smoothly – every day, especially during our busiest period.

The work is varied and requires you to know a little about a lot. You switch between different tasks and are both handy and solution-oriented. One day you fix minor issues in guest rooms or clear a drain; the next day you set up conference rooms, mow the lawn, or ensure our outdoor areas are in top condition.

You work closely with all departments and are a natural part of the guest experience – even on the practical side.

Examples of tasks:

• Guest interaction and service
• Addressing and repairing fault reports
• Preventative maintenance, indoors and outdoors
• Furnishing conference rooms
• Pool maintenance
• Trash collection and goods reception
• Groundskeeping (mowing, watering, weeding)
• Physically demanding work

Who Are You?

We are looking for someone who:

• Is practically minded and technically handy
• Is physically strong and enjoys a mobile role
• Has an eye for detail and takes care of what needs to be done
• Is solution-oriented and can make independent decisions
• Thrives in a team and contributes with a positive attitude
• Enjoys working in a busy environment

Requirements:

• You must be at least 18 years old. Reason: The work involves handling pool chemicals such as chlorine and acids. According to the Swedish Work Environment Authority’s regulations on the working environment for minors (AFS 2012:3), particularly sections 11–12, minors (under 18) may not perform work that involves specific risks, which includes handling corrosive and hazardous chemical products.
• Speaks Swedish fluently

Employment Terms

• Seasonal employment, approximately 60%, weeks 25–33
• Every other weekend starting immediately
• Varying working hours – we are open every day of the week
• We are members of Visita and follow the collective agreement with HRF

Interviews are conducted continuously, and the position may be filled before the final application date.
