About the medicine unit
At Internat Blentarp, we have a Medicine Unit located in a beautiful and calm environment in the region of Blentarp in Skåne. The medicine unit is a 24-hour unit where registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and doctors work. The staff has solid knowledge and experience in addiction and abstinence treatment.
About the role of licensed practical nurse
As a licensed practical nurse at the medicine unit in Blentarp, you will have various tasks.
·Together with the registered nurse, you will receive our patients for admission.
·You will provide nursing care to our inpatients in abstinence care.
·Assist our patients in their self-care regarding prescribed medications.
·Another task is to provide support and encouragement to our patients in their mental and physical well-being.
Work includes day, evening, weekend and night shifts. During certain evening and weekend shifts, as well as all night shifts, you work alone. A registered nurse is always on call outside office hours.
Formal requirement: licensed practical nurse.
Experience:
- You need experience in addiction care/psychiatry.
- You must have good knowledge of psychiatric nursing.
- Have experience in taking vital signs.
- You need to have a solid sense of security and use a low-arousal approach in stressful situations.
- You must be a team player and have the ability to see what needs to be done and prioritized.
- A valid driving license
