Newly Graduated Engineer Looking to Drive Automation and Efficiency Projects
Description
Do you want to work in an industrial operation where technology, production, and development meet? At Byggelit, there is now a unique opportunity via KTP Mittcirkeln to lead a development project in automation and efficiency in our production.
Byggelit is an established player in Swedish wood processing, manufacturing customized particle boards with a focus on quality and sustainability.
We have previous experience with successful KTP projects and know that it works. Today, two engineers are working with us who started exactly like that. Now we are looking for additional KTP engineers to further strengthen our competitiveness.
For you, this means a paid project employment with responsibility from the start, support all the way, and a clear timeline that can lead to permanent employment after the project is completed.
What is KTP Mittcirkeln?
KTP (Knowledge Transfer Partnership) is a tripartite collaboration between companies, universities, and a newly graduated engineer, aimed at translating new knowledge into concrete results in the operations.
The program originates from the United Kingdom and is an established model that has been used for many years to connect companies and academia in real development projects.
The company needs knowledge.
The university has knowledge.
The engineer transfers knowledge.
IUC Jämtland Härjedalen holds the project together and supports all parties throughout the process.
What you get from a KTP project
✔ Paid project employment with opportunity for permanent employment.
✔ A real assignment at an actual industrial company.
✔ Support all the way. You get a business coach from IUC, academic supervisor from Mid Sweden University, and a team that follows you throughout the project.
✔ Experience that counts. You develop in project management, technology, and business, and build a relevant network in the industry.

About the project and your role
You will lead your project with a clear focus: to make production more efficient, stable, and resource-efficient with two main directions:
Automation and process development
You drive one of the company's prioritized automation projects. This could involve upgrading equipment, optimizing control, or improving flows in production. Examples include working with PLC optimization, switching to more energy-efficient operation, or implementing smarter data collection.
Maintenance and availability
In parallel, you develop methods for preventive maintenance. You create and implement routines for calibration and control of critical instruments, aiming to reduce downtime and increase production availability.
You work closely with the technical manager, production, and operational staff, and drive the project from analysis to implementation and follow-up. Here, decision-making paths are short, collaboration is close, and interest in technology and problem-solving is a natural part of everyday life.
The goal is not just improvement on paper, but in production.
More efficient processes mean better use of energy and raw materials.
More stable maintenance means less downtime and higher availability.
Even small improvements in availability have a clear effect on the bottom line, and the project is part of a larger effort to strengthen Byggelit's competitiveness.
