Materials and Process Engineer - Composites

As a Materials and Process Engineer, you will be part of a team working with, among other things, qualification of materials and manufacturing processes. The work takes place at the interface between production, design, quality, and purchasing, as well as with external contacts outside Saab AB. An important part of the operations is also support to production and design, which includes assisting with issues regarding material selection and deviation handling. The work may also include teaching, contact with material suppliers, and work with our internal company standards.

The team for Composite Materials belongs to the section Material & Process Polymer and Composite within the area Material Process and Component Engineering, which is responsible for standardized materials and processes for manufacturing Aeronautics' various products. The section currently has 18 employees.

The work can be adapted to some extent based on the individual's competence and focus together with others in the team.

We are looking for someone who is at least a Master of Science (MSc) in materials engineering, chemistry, physics, or similar.

To be successful in the position, you need good knowledge of materials technology and an interest in composite materials. You have experience working cross-disciplinarily, have good pedagogical skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

It is meritorious if you have experience of production-related work or experience with composite materials and their manufacturing. As a person, we see that you have high social skills and are both self-driven and accurate in your work. You have an analytical approach and are driven in your work. You take own initiative and responsibility and can work both independently and in a group. You express yourself well in speech and writing, in both Swedish and English.
