Your duties

Are you good at supporting and motivating others? Do you have experience working with individuals with ongoing substance abuse and addiction issues? Then you might be the one we are looking for as a support educator at Nya Tanneforsvägen!

As a support educator, you will support our clients through coaching and guiding conversations. You help clients gain structure in their daily lives, assist with household chores and personal care, and act as the client's link to social authorities, healthcare, psychiatry, probation services, etc.

You work to motivate clients to maintain and develop their abilities and create meaningful days through a pedagogical approach. Together with the clients, you establish implementation plans based on their needs. In addition to daily tasks, you are expected, together with your employer, to identify areas for development such as implementation plans, documentation, and treatment plans. The support you provide must respect the client's self-determination and integrity and strengthen their self-esteem. The department is responsible for statutory authority for adults aged 21 and above within individual and family care, LSS, and social psychiatry. The department is tasked with conducting interventions in-house and procuring services to meet the client's needs.

As a support educator, you also actively contribute to the development of the operation by using scientifically proven theories, methods, and experiences. You have a clear focus on the clients and participate in development work relevant to the operation. You may also have specific areas of responsibility within this development work.

Your workplace

The Social Administration's mission is to support residents to live an independent life and ensure that all residents receive the support they are entitled to within the framework of the Social Services Act and the Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments (LSS). Nya Tanneforsvägen is placed under the Adult department.

Nya Tanneforsvägen is a housing facility with 9 apartments, and we provide housing support for approximately 10 people in ordinary housing. The target group is adults with ongoing substance abuse and addiction issues. The workplace employs experienced treatment assistants and a group leader. We care about each other, and the work environment is good.

Working hours are scheduled for day, evening, and sleeping on-call. Solo staffing during on-call hours with support from night patrol. Weekend duty is every other weekend according to the current schedule. At least two staff members work during days and evenings.

Who you are

We are looking for someone who is a trained support educator or has a relevant vocational or university degree. You need experience working with substance abuse and addiction issues. Knowledge of MI (Motivational Interviewing), ESL (A Self-Sufficient Life), low-arousal approach, and pedagogical methods are desirable.

You need to have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as the language is used extensively in the job, for example in record-keeping and meetings with clients. You are used to using computers for documentation. Experience with documenting in Treserva is a merit. A driver's license for a manual transmission is required, as some tasks may involve accompanying clients to meetings, activities, or medical appointments.

You thrive on collaborating with other professionals and have good cooperation skills by being perceptive, communicative, solution-oriented, and keeping the individual in focus. You demonstrate good pedagogical insight and understand how individuals acquire knowledge, adapting your way of conveying messages to the recipient. You also need the ability to put yourself in someone else's perspective or situation and be relationship-building with a good ability to establish contact with people. It is also important that you can work both independently and in a structured manner by planning, organizing, and prioritizing your work well.
