Summer Temporary Position – Housing Support Worker
Description
Do you long for a meaningful job where you, together with others, can truly make a difference? Would you like to work in a non-profit organization where the individual is always in focus?
We are looking for summer substitutes for our residences at Mikaelgården!
Mikaelgården provides housing for children and young people under the LSS and HVB frameworks, as well as operating a primary school and primary special school. We are a non-profit, therapeutic pedagogical organization, and our school uses a Waldorf curriculum.
At Mikaelgården we have created a therapeutic environment for children who need more than temporary, point-based interventions. The students, all of primary school age, come from all over the country and display a broad spectrum of different mental and social functional variations. Commonly occurring diagnoses include ADD, ADHD, autism, oppositional defiant disorder, and Tourette's syndrome.
We are looking for someone trained in the field: nursing assistant, social pedagogue, treatment assistant, recreation leader, social worker, behavioral scientist, or other similar education.
About Mikaelgården
Mikaelgården is located in scenic surroundings just outside Järna town centre. Classrooms, assembly halls, dining hall, and housing are all located within the same area, forming a living environment that creates a special sense of safety and belonging.
At Mikaelgården there are seven residences in close proximity to the school. Each residence houses 4–5 children/young people. Three of our residences are licensed under LSS and four under HVB.
We offer a warm and pleasant atmosphere with a clear daily rhythm. Opportunities are provided for social training as well as practice in all practical tasks of daily life. Our basic philosophy is to strengthen the child's inherent abilities, and we are convinced that every individual holds great developmental potential. We work individually with each child to create security, wholeness, context, and development.
About the position
To work with us, besides having relevant education, you need a genuine interest in children and young people.

The work requires that you are secure in yourself and that you can handle and have experience with challenging behaviors. We also place great emphasis on employees actively participating in the work team and following common guidelines and routines. You must be able to work both independently and in a group.
We are an organization that believes in community and its power. And we believe that having fun at work is important.
