Teacher in Natural Science and Chemistry
Description
Now you have a golden opportunity to combine your interest in human relations with your knowledge of natural science. You will work with our Natural Science Foundation Year program while also inspiring participants to take an interest in the wondrous world of science in our General Course.
About us
Strömbäck Folk High School is located about 20 km south of Umeå, in a historical setting and scenic surroundings. Our school is part of the Swedish folk education movement and offers a pedagogical environment that stimulates personal development, democratic values, and engagement in societal development.
Approximately 150 students study at Strömbäck Folk High School, either in Umeå or at one of our branches. We have accommodation for about 70 participants at our boarding school in Strömbäck. We base our work on each person's needs and opportunities, striving to meet them as comprehensively as possible.
We offer what is known in folk high schools as a General Course, where participants can gain basic upper secondary school eligibility. We also have a General Course focus aimed at participants with neuropsychiatric disabilities, mental health issues, or experience of school refusal, conducted at both compulsory and upper secondary levels. In addition, we offer a Natural Science Foundation Year, Bible Mountain, and Musical Academy.
Combined with small groups where everyone is seen, pleasant premises, and scenic surroundings, this provides the best conditions for good study results. We also aim to stimulate people to formulate life questions and, based on Christian values and thoughts about everyone's equal value, offer a pedagogical environment that encourages personal development, creative activity, and responsibility.
We are a close-knit team with high attendance, low staff turnover, and consequently a high level of job satisfaction. The operation is run by a foundation whose principals are EFS in Västerbotten, the Diocese of Luleå, and the Church of Sweden.
