About us

Magelungen Resource School Södertälje is for students with extensive need for special support who require a smaller context to benefit from teaching. The pedagogical environment is well thought out and adapted to the students' needs. Groups are small, teacher density is high, and student health services are reinforced to allow students to develop in their studies and feel successful. The school's staff are dedicated and experienced in working with students who, for various reasons, have not thrived in their previous home schools. We have a systemic and salutogenic approach where focus is on working holistically and building on what works. Our goal is to offer a context where all students get a chance to succeed based on their conditions.

About the position

As a teacher at Magelungen, you actively work in the school environment alongside your teaching role with responsibility for instruction, coaching, and mentorship. Focus on strengthening, affirming, and supporting students both in and outside the classroom. You work in close collaboration with school management, other educators, student health, and treatment coordinators (social workers and behavioral scientists) by building on students' competencies, strengths, and resources and using these to practice what is difficult.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed primary school teacher with qualifications for grades 7-9 in Mathematics/Science and Physical Education. Experience also teaching younger ages is meritorious. You have previous experience working in primary school, and special education training is an advantage. It is important that you are flexible and want to be part of a context where collaboration with colleagues is a central part of the assignment. You work well with others and relate to them in a responsive and smooth way. You find it motivating to work with school development, special education issues, new research, and are not averse to thinking outside the box. The school caters exclusively to students with extensive special needs, so we value experience working with similar student groups. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Employment form

The position is a permanent full-time employment starting by agreement. We apply a 6-month probationary period.
