Julins Backyard Barbecue opened in the fall of 2020 with a clear vision: to serve barbecue of the highest class. Our inspiration comes from the American South - specifically Austin, Texas - and since opening we have built a restaurant and smokehouse where quality, craftsmanship and guest experience are central.
Since 2022, our Foodtruck has also been rolling out to events, festivals, markets and catering assignments - spreading the scent of authentic Texas BBQ far beyond the restaurant walls.
In the fall of 2025, we finally opened our BBQ Hub at Herrgårdsgatan 9 in central Karlstad. The smokehouse on Örsholmen is in full swing to also supply our BBQ Hub with Authentic Texas BBQ - but here in the form of Street Food.
For us, guests are more than just guests – they are our friends. When they walk in, they should get a complete experience of food, drink, music and service with a refined touch. Texas barbecue – but in Värmland.
We are now looking for extra staff for our kitchen team for the spring and summer season. Start now with the possibility of extension in the fall.
About the role
As a cook with us, you work in an open kitchen where quality, pace and teamwork are crucial. You are part of a committed team that constantly strives to develop and get even better. We need cooks for our restaurant and smokehouse on Örsholmen but also for our BBQ Hub.
- Mise en place and plating
- Handling and preparation of meat cuts
- Preparation of sauces, rubs and sides
- Cleaning and dishwashing
- Possible work in our Foodtruck on various assignments
In the long run, you will have the opportunity to learn to work with our two smokers – an offset smoker from Millscale and an Oiler pit J&R from Texas. For those who want to immerse themselves in genuine barbecue craftsmanship, this is a fantastic opportunity.
