Surgical or Eye Nurse

Optalmica Eye Clinics is the small big eye clinic. We have our own clinics and regional assignments in Eskilstuna, Gävle, Stockholm, and Västerås.

Optalmica Eye Clinic in Gävle currently offers cataract surgeries including pre-operative examinations. We work on behalf of Region Gävleborg, and our modern, fresh, and functional facility is centrally located in Gävle in the Läkarhuset on Staketgatan.

Our current staff team consists of a clinic manager, a nurse, assistant nurses, and an ophthalmologist.

We are a tight-knit team that enjoys working together and has fun at work. Tasks vary depending on whether it is a surgery day or a pre-examination day. Collaboration between the different roles at the clinic and between Optalmica's various clinics is key to our operations. We work according to proven medical experience as well as established company-wide routines and processes.

We are now looking for either an eye nurse or a surgical nurse for a permanent position at 80-100%, starting on September 1, 2026, or slightly earlier.

Your main tasks will vary between instrumenting or assisting during surgery and performing pre-examinations on non-surgery days. You will also be our outward face in the reception on certain days and sometimes work in the sterile area. Since we are a small team, it is very important that everyone can handle the different tasks at the clinic, as we are careful to help each other. Any tasks you lack experience in, we will train you in.
