Description
Mullsjö Folk High School is located in Mullsjö in southeastern Västergötland, but in Jönköping County, just under 30 km northwest of Jönköping. The school has approximately 200 participants in long courses and an extensive short course program.
The school's principals are a triad consisting of the Swedish Alliance Mission, the Swedish Alliance Mission Youth, and the Mullsjö Folk High School Alumni Association. The operations are based on a Christian outlook and are conducted in a drug-free environment, which we assume you respect and gladly share.
We have the capacity to accommodate 64 participants in the school's boarding facilities during the academic year. During the summer period, the boarding facilities are used for many of our popular summer courses, camps, further training, etc.
We also have a hostel and conference accommodation with approximately 50 beds, so the school can offer a total of about 115 beds.
We are now looking for a resource person & boarding school manager 50%
As a resource person, you meet and support participants throughout the school day. In your role, you play an important part in the school's work for safety, study peace, and pedagogical adaptation for all participants' learning opportunities.
Qualifications for resource person
You have completed upper secondary education and relevant education for the position, e.g., as a social pedagogue, student assistant, or support pedagogue, as well as experience working with people with disabilities. Desirable is that you have experience working with individuals with special needs within neurodevelopmental disorders. You are flexible, have a positive attitude, and a calm, solution-oriented approach.
We would like if you have previously worked at a folk high school or with adults. Folk high school is a free form of education where learning and participants' personal development are truly in focus. We are looking for someone skilled in developing participants' self-esteem and independence.
Qualifications for boarding school manager
As boarding school manager, it is a prerequisite that you want to work with people with different life experiences. You have the ability to engage and enthuse and be a support in various situations. We also place great importance on personal qualities and if you have previous experience of similar work. You should be flexible in both tasks and working hours.
Tasks for boarding school manager
- responsible for accommodation and room allocation of the school's boarding facilities, rental agreements, etc.
- arrange and participate in social activities for the school's participants and plan and implement "boarding meetings"
- supervise the boarding facility.
- in consultation with the property manager, work on purchasing inventory for the boarding facility.
- if necessary, participate in the school's teacher council
- be part of the school's steering group and in some cases other working groups
