
Leisure-time teacher
Description
Segersta school is now looking for an engaged leisure-time teacher who will also have part of their assignment as a diabetes resource for a student in grades F–6. The position suits someone who wants to work closely with students and colleagues in a safe, family-like school environment where everyone knows everyone.
The position is a combination where you, for part of the school day, support a student with diabetes according to an established self-care plan, and in the afternoons work pedagogically at the leisure-time center. You become an important source of security for the student and a natural part of the school's team.
Job duties as a leisure-time teacher:
- Plan, implement, and follow up activities at the leisure-time center
- Create a safe, creative, and stimulating environment for students
- Work according to the curriculum and the school's values
- Collaborate closely with school staff and guardians
Job duties as a diabetes resource:
- Support a student with diabetes during the school day according to a self-care plan
- Assist with blood sugar checks, meals, physical activity, and when necessary, insulin (as delegated)
- Help ensure the student can participate in the school day and leisure activities on equal terms
Qualifications
- Educated and certified leisure-time teacher/leisure-time educator or other relevant pedagogical education
- Experience working in a school or leisure-time center
- Good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing
Meritorious
Experience working with a student with diabetes or other chronic illness. Interest in relationship-building work in a close school environment.
Personal qualities
We are looking for someone who is stable, calm, and responsible. You are attentive and good at building relationships. You are also structured and follow routines while being flexible and solution-oriented.

Employment
The employment is a permanent position with a scope of 80–100%. Start date is the autumn term of 2026.
