With us, there is a drive and a willingness to meet the individual and offer good care based on our concept "A Good Home." Together, we make a difference for our residents and their families – every day. We can offer you, as an assistant nurse, a workplace where community, respectful treatment, and structure are valued.

About Vallgossen Elderly Care Home

Vallgossen, located centrally on Kungsholmen and focused on dementia and somatic care, is Stockholm's Sjukhem's first and oldest care home. The facility consists of 102 apartments with nice, modern premises, along with a large park and winter garden that allow outdoor stays year-round. A major advantage at Vallgossen is the proximity to the hospital and its facilities. Vallgossen also has a unit for people under 65 with dementia or brain injury.

Within elderly care, we have a unique organization for health and medical interventions. The doctor responsible for medical interventions at care homes operated by the foundation is employed by us. This strengthens continuity and collaboration in the professional teams.

About the role of Activity CoordinatorWe want to give our residents more than just care – we want to give them a daily life filled with meaning, community, and joy. Therefore, we are now looking for an activity coordinator with training in elderly pedagogy, or other education that the employer deems equivalent, who wants to make a difference.

As an activity coordinator, you will become a key person on our team. You are the one who ensures that the small details of everyday life become great experiences. Through conversation groups, cultural events, meaningful activities, and social meetings, you contribute to strengthening the health and well-being of the elderly. You work closely with care staff, activity representatives, relatives, and external actors to create a daily life that promotes participation, quality of life, and community.

The role includes, among other things:

  • planning, leading, and developing activities that promote health, social interaction, and meaningfulness
  • holding conversation groups and individual conversations to support residents in matters concerning quality of life, aging, and existential needs
  • working with culture, music, movement, and creative elements that stimulate memory, joy, and community
  • collaborating with activity representatives, relatives, and external actors to develop a rich and varied activity program
  • contributing to preventing involuntary loneliness and mental ill health among our residents

The position is a permanent part-time employment. We apply a probationary period.

We are looking for someone who is perceptive, creative, and unpretentious – a person who can inspire others, listen attentively, and create participation in every interaction. You have a genuine commitment to people and always see opportunities where others might see obstacles.

You are trained in elderly pedagogy, preferably as a certified elderly pedagogue or equivalent education, and have documented experience working with the elderly – a background that gives you both knowledge and understanding of their needs, living conditions, and dreams. You have a very good command of the Swedish language in both speech and writing, have good computer skills, and are confident in using digital tools in your work.

With us, you become part of a non-profit foundation with no profit motive, where warmth, care, and quality are always at the center. Here, you not only get a job – you get an opportunity to develop, be inspired, and help create elder care where every day counts.

Stockholms Sjukhem works with competence-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's skills to promote an inclusive workplace. We have decided on advertising, so we do not wish to receive sales calls regarding advertising, recruitment, or staffing.

Stockholms Sjukhem is one of Sweden's largest non-profit healthcare providers. We offer a broad range of care within elderly care, rehabilitation, geriatrics, and palliative care. Running healthcare and elderly care is a great societal responsibility, and as an approved university hospital unit, we continuously work with research, development, and education. With us, you work in a warm environment that values personal treatment and is characterized by the core values of commitment, knowledge, and compassion.
