Teacher of English and Natural Sciences (temporary position 26/27)

Önnestad Folk High School has been an important place for education and personal development for over 150 years. The school is situated in scenic surroundings that contribute to a peaceful and creative study environment. The school has a boarding facility and is close to train connections. Each year, about 300 participants choose us to attend one of our programs. Approximately 40 people work at the school in various roles including cleaning, property maintenance, caretaking, administration, finance, study and career counseling, kitchen staff, and teachers.

We are looking for a teacher for the General Course. Are you motivated by working in the relatively free folk high school approach to teaching and assessment, where democracy, broad perspectives, and current events characterize the work alongside core subject content?

For the General Course at Önnestad Folk High School, we are seeking a temporary teacher for the academic year fall 2026 / spring 2027 who wants to contribute to our participants' development, education, and support in completing their upper secondary education generally and specifically in the subjects of English and Natural Sciences.

The studies are intended for adults, and the position includes teaching, guiding, and supporting participants in both studies and social life. We see you as an important person for the school's collaborative work to promote participants' education and development. The work often takes place together with subject colleagues and teams.

Teaching in the General Course is based on both individual and group needs, levels, and desires. Therefore, the position requires creativity and the ability to continuously adapt methods and content in teaching. Participants' knowledge is assessed through discussions, presentations, written assignments, practical exercises, and group work.

It is meritorious if you have good knowledge and experience of teaching groups with neurodevelopmental disorders (NPF diagnoses).

The employment rate is 85%.
