Åredalens folk high school is now looking for a healthcare teacher for our newly started training programs for Nursing Assistant (2 years) or Care Assistant (1 year). A unique opportunity to work with an exciting education program in a mountain environment.

Qualifications and expectations

As a healthcare teacher, you are responsible for planning, teaching, and assessment in healthcare and nursing subjects. You will work both theoretically and practically with the participants, helping them develop the knowledge and skills required in the profession. To thrive in the role of healthcare teacher, you should have good pedagogical and relational skills with an interest in working with adult education.

As a healthcare teacher you must have:

· A pedagogical education or other education/experience that the employer deems relevant

· An education in healthcare and nursing

· Professional experience as a nursing assistant or nurse

· Good ability to cooperate and meet people from different backgrounds

· Experience with Microsoft-365

· Shared understanding of the school's Christian values

Meritorious

· Nursing education

· Experience in popular education / folk high school

· Knowledge of the Evangelical Lutheran Mission Foundation (ELMF), the school's ideological principal

About the school

Åredalens folk high school is located high above the Indals River, about 20 km east of Åre. The school offers a wide range of courses within four areas: Outdoor life, Bible/Faith, Art, and General course. The school has about 200 course participants in long courses, boarding accommodation for up to 120 people, and about 30 dedicated employees. In our operations, we collaborate with several different organizations in civil society. Åredalens folk high school is one of Sweden's over 110 movement folk high schools and is run as a legal entity by a non-profit school association, with the ideological principal being the Evangelical Lutheran Mission Foundation (ELMF).
