Personal Assistant Summer Substitute

Our goal is to offer members a good quality of life with security and safety in their personal assistance. With us, you get the chance to make a difference in another person's life through your commitment.

We are looking for a personal assistant to work this summer for a young man in his 40s with an acquired brain injury.

He lives centrally in Eskilstuna and receives help from his assistants around the clock. During the day and part of the evening, there are two assistants; the rest of the time and at night, you work alone as an assistant.

The assistance involves help with all hygiene and personal care, assistance with transfers using lifts to and from wheelchair. Tube feeding and some work with medical equipment such as inhalations, cough machine, and mucus mobilization are also included in the tasks.

Our member has no speech but understands and can communicate to some extent in other ways, such as using hand signals and pointing at cards.

The work includes all household chores such as laundry and cleaning.

To be suitable as a personal assistant for this assignment, you need to be calm, attentive, empathetic, and responsible. It is an advantage if you have previously worked in assignments involving healthcare tasks.

There is a cat in the home, so you must not be allergic.

We prefer that you have healthcare training or longer experience, but we are open to new ways of working and flexible in actions and mindset regarding creating the best assistance for our member.

The substitute position runs from week 24 to week 31, and we want you to be available for immediate introduction. Shifts are scheduled for day, evening, and weekends. Good chances to continue as an hourly substitute after the summer.
