Apex.se is looking for a Car Builder - Mechanic & Handyman

Apex.se is undergoing strong development and we are now in need of a car builder/mechanic and handyman for our operations in Önnestad.

The basis of the position is converting cars, tire service at racing/rally events, and handling tire changes in summer/winter.

We build racing cars, weld roll cages, and convert suspension, brakes, etc. in our workshop.

During the tire seasons, you take care of our tire hotel customers (approx. 80 hours each season).

In the summer season, the focus is on our race tire service at events mainly in Sweden but with occasional trips abroad (Denmark, Norway, and further south may occur).

This involves about 10 race visits annually where you typically work Thursday to Sunday that week.

Before races, the right equipment and correct number and type of tires must be loaded.

After races, our vehicles and equipment need overhauling. This can include washing tent canvas, servicing tire machines or vehicles.

The main tasks are:

• Converting standard cars into racing cars (more intensive in winter)
• Restoring special cars
• Maintaining equipment and machinery used in our racing tire service (mostly summer)
• Attending races and working with tire service and everything that entails (mostly summer)
• Maintaining company vehicles (including trucks, trailers, and cars)
• Keeping order in the workshop, storage areas, and the property in general.
• Handling tire changes in summer and winter seasons (managing the tire hotel)
• Stepping in when something else needs fixing

The position offers great freedom and requires a high degree of structure and initiative.

You must enjoy working independently even though there are 8 colleagues working in the same building.

You need at least one of the following experiences/knowledge/qualifications to be considered for the job:

• Driving license class C/CE
• Welding skills (MIG)
• Car repair experience
• Motorsport experience
• Car restoration/conversion

Salary is paid monthly and normal working hours are 08:00-17:00 weekdays at the facility at Västra Bockebäcksvägen 5a in Önnestad. However, during the season we also work at tracks around the Nordics, which means about 10-20 weekend days per year.

Expected salary level is between 28,000 and 45,000 per month depending on your experience and qualifications.
