
Senior Electrical Power Engineer in Control Systems and Relay Protection
Description
Victory Current is seeking a senior electrical power engineer for a longer consulting assignment with an international player in the energy and power industry. You will be employed by Victory Current and will work on technically advanced projects in an international environment.
Victory Current is a company based in Västerås that offers technical consulting services in electrical engineering and electrical design.
The role is suitable for you who have solid experience of high- and medium-voltage substations as well as control systems and relay protection.
About the position
As a senior electrical power engineer, you are responsible for planning, executing, and coordinating qualified work in secondary design, control systems, and relay protection. You work independently, lead other engineers when needed, and act as technical support for the project organization, customers, and suppliers.
The work is carried out in close collaboration with, among others, project managers and specialists in primary design, construction engineering, quality assurance, purchasing, testing, and commissioning.
Your main duties include, among other things:
- Produce and review technical documentation for high- and medium-voltage substations
- Work with single-line diagrams, relay protection and interlock diagrams, as well as AC and DC drawings
- Perform technical calculations and produce drawing documentation for control and relay protection cabinets
- Work with IED configurations, cabling, connection diagrams, and bill of materials
- Evaluate supplier proposals and ensure that equipment and services meet the projects' technical requirements
- Provide technical support before and during pre-FAT and FAT
- Support installation, testing, and commissioning work
- Produce project documentation within your own area of responsibility
- Lead and coordinate complex technical activities within one or more technical areas
- Contribute to improved ways of working, efficient deliveries, and high customer satisfaction
We are looking for someone who has
- A university engineering or Master of Science in Engineering degree in electrical engineering
- At least six years of relevant work experience, including experience of technical leadership or coordination
- Experience of design work related to high- and medium-voltage substations
- Good knowledge of control systems and relay protection
- Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
- Interest in and opportunity to work on international projects
- Ability to independently plan and carry out complex technical tasks
You may also be relevant for the position if you have another relevant technical education combined with more than 15 years of experience in the field.
It is an advantage if you have experience with electrical design tools such as:
- Elmaster
- E3
- AutoCAD

Employment and scope
You will be employed by Victory Current and work as a consultant on the assignment.

- Scope: Full-time, 100 percent
- Employment period: 15 October 2026 to and including 14 October 2027
- Work format: The work is performed on site in Västerås
Before employment, the final candidate needs to undergo a background check and a drug test and sign a confidentiality agreement. A certificate for SSG Entré will also be required.
