PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE CONTENT AND REQUIREMENTS. WE DECLINE UNSUITABLE JOB APPLICANTS.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We are now looking for you as a mental health care worker/care assistant in psychiatric care. We welcome both male and female applicants.
The position is a permanent employment with a 6-month probationary period. The position includes day, evening, sleeping on-call, and weekend work according to a 4-week rolling schedule.
We are a tight-knit team of colleagues with a high ceiling and easy laughter. Staff turnover is low and job satisfaction is high. With us, you can grow as a person while making a difference for others.
We expect that you who apply have completed the care programme, mental health care worker training, or equivalent documented care or educational training. You are structured and good at motivating others.
As a mental health care worker, your main duties will be to base your work on the residents' individual needs and wishes and provide support in daily life from an educational approach. You will function as support/help in everyday life for people with varying mental and social disabilities, some with co-occurring disorders. You will work towards increased independence by providing the right support based on individual circumstances, to make everyday life as self-directed as possible for the residents.
Together with other staff, you work with the goal of making the day meaningful and rich in content for residents. You support and guide residents with, among other things, personal care, meals, medication management, cleaning, community contacts and communication.
An important part of the work is to stimulate and motivate the resident to develop their abilities and to create opportunities for an active and meaningful leisure time.
Your duties also include documenting and planning based on implementation plans.
You will participate in the daily planning for ADL, activities, trips and motivational conversations.
ABOUT US
Edebohemmet is an HVB home for 15 residents divided between a main building and an annex with apartments for transition. It is beautifully located on the outskirts of Edebo in Roslagen, about 35 km from Norrtälje. You can get to us by bus or car.
We serve men and women aged 18-65 with some form of mental disability.
We have provided psychiatric care since 1977. There is therefore long experience of working with people in need of, among other things, mental and social care. Since 2006, we have focused on support and care for people with dual diagnoses (co-occurring disorders).
We work with key worker roles, which means that you are the contact person for some residents and responsible for planning and follow-up of their interventions based on an implementation plan.
Daily planning is carried out for ADL, activities, trips and motivational conversations.
We use the methods Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Low-Arousal Approach. The purpose of the conversation method is to promote motivation and behavioural changes.
Documentation takes place continuously through record-keeping in Infosoc. We work with Individual's Needs in the Centre (IBIC), which is a way of working to identify and describe the individual's needs, resources, goals and results with a clear focus on the individual's own resources, goals and active participation.
Education/Experience
You who apply have completed the care programme, mental health care worker training, or equivalent documented care or educational training.
You need to have basic computer skills. Digital record systems and email are your most important work tools alongside contact with residents. You are not expected to know the system in advance, but you need to be able to learn quickly.
The work requires that you have very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
A category B driving licence is a requirement, so that you can, without difficulty, for example drive residents to day programmes, activities or care visits etc., regardless of distance.
You will work in a staff group where you are expected to be able to cooperate and have the ability to work independently. We place great importance on personal suitability. Otherwise, your CV is not the most important thing. If you have the right qualities, we give you support and the opportunity to grow.
