Assignment: Senior Power BI Developer

About the assignment

On behalf of our client, an organization in the public sector/property management, we are looking for a senior Power BI developer with extensive experience in developing and maintaining analysis and decision support solutions in Power BI.

Purpose

The purpose of the assignment is to strengthen the organization's capabilities in data analysis, visualization, and data-driven decision support by adding senior Power BI expertise. You will work with development and further development of Power BI solutions in close collaboration with the business and the organization's Data Engineers and other data specialists.

Goals

The goal is to establish and further develop a modern, user-friendly, and scalable decision support solution that gives the business better access to quality-assured information and strengthens the ability to make data-driven decisions. The assignment will also contribute to developing ways of working and technical capabilities in Power BI, data modeling, and AI-supported analysis.

Areas of responsibility

• Develop, further develop, and maintain reports, dashboards, and analysis solutions in Power BI
• Design, develop, and optimize data models
• Develop solutions using DAX and Power Query and use SQL for data management and analysis
• Translate business needs and requirements into user-friendly analysis and decision support solutions
• Collaborate with Data Engineers on Data Warehouse and Lakehouse solutions, data quality, and information structures
• Identify and implement improvements to existing Power BI solutions regarding performance, usability, and quality
• Contribute to the development of the organization's analytics architecture and ways of working in data and visualization
• Contribute to a good user experience through thoughtful visualization, information design, and structure
• Evaluate and, where relevant, apply AI and Copilot functionality within Power BI and the analytics area
• Document solutions and contribute to knowledge transfer to internal employees

Requirements

• Several years of documented experience in Power BI development
• Very good competence in data modeling and development of robust, user-friendly data models
• Very good knowledge of DAX and Power Query and good knowledge of SQL
• Experience working with Data Warehouse and/or modern Data Lakehouse solutions
• Experience translating business needs into clear, user-friendly, and fit-for-purpose analysis and visualization solutions
• Experience working with data quality, information structure, and performance optimization
• Ability to collaborate closely with Data Engineers and other technical roles on data platform, data models, and information supply
• Understanding of the entire chain from data source and data platform to data model, visualization, and decision support
• Experience working agilely and independently from needs analysis to finished solution
