Supervising Church/Cemetery Caretaker

Together with Bjurholm Parish, Vännäs forms the Vännäs-Bjurholm Parish Partnership. A parish partnership with proximity to both town and countryside, forest and rivers. Around 11,000 residents live in the parish partnership. In total we are about 40 employees spread across four workplaces.

The parish partnership works according to the guiding words "Here, all of life has a place", which also characterises our approach in meeting people. The organisation is flat and decision-making paths are short.

As a supervising church/cemetery caretaker, you will work directly under the Cemetery and Property Manager, leading, planning and following up on the day-to-day operations at Bjurholm and Bredträsk cemeteries, as well as the maintenance and supervision of the church's properties in Bjurholm and Bredträsk. The tasks involved include grave digging, care of green areas, plantings, and property and machine maintenance. You will also be responsible for contact with the public regarding the activities at the cemeteries. Some weekend duty at services and church ceremonies may be included. As Bjurholm Parish is part of the Vännäs-Bjurholm Parish Partnership, some duties may be carried out in Vännäs Parish when needed.

Great importance is placed on experience in the professional field, personal qualities and a sense of responsibility. As a supervisor, you should be flexible, stress-resistant, positive, have a sense of humour and be able to take initiative.

The following are strong merits:

• Experience of supervisory work.
• A category B driving licence and machine and operator competence are a requirement. A category C driving licence and operator certification for wheel loaders and excavators are merits.
• Versatile practical experience of gardening work relating to the maintenance and laying out of green areas.
• Experience of the operation and maintenance of properties.
• Basic computer skills and some familiarity with systems.
