Lillängsskolan is an independent primary school in Mariestad for grades f-6. The school is located in the scenic Johannesberg area of Mariestad. The school has approximately 163 students, about 24 students per class. 15 employed educators plus school management. Student health team (EHT) staff are close and available in everyday life. The organization is well-founded on common values and approaches based on research and success factors for school development.

Lillängsskolan has a well-developed pedagogical approach where students practice becoming responsible, independent, and reflective.

Job Duties and Personal Qualities

We are looking for employees with qualifications to work f-3. All teacher qualifications are of interest as the organization is flexible and adaptable. You will be a mentor and class teacher and are responsible for development talks and regular mentor conversations. Primarily, you will be responsible for one class in f-3, depending on how the organization structures the whole. You are responsible for the school's social mission and see it as an important part of your work. You are independent in your teaching mission but see the importance and strive to work together with your colleagues. Being where students are is a given for you and something you strive for because you understand that students need adults around them to develop into responsible citizens.

It is a given for you that physical activity is something we need to get students to do more of. You understand the importance of long-term learning and not just learning to meet the grade's knowledge requirements. You like to help with things that exist in a school without directly connecting to your subject qualifications. We help each other at school to create a pleasant, safe, and stimulating learning environment in all areas.

Conditions of Employment

We work 9 hours per day, from 07:30 to 16:30. You agree with your colleagues on when to take breaks and recess. You eat together with students and colleagues and are always available for students' questions and needs. Thus, you are paid for all the time you spend at the workplace. You have vacation and compensatory leave during autumn break, Christmas holidays, winter break, Easter break, and summer break. You work on average 30-36 hours per week calculated over a school year.

Working hours and conditions are regulated by a local collective agreement signed by Friskolan i Mariestad, Sveriges Lärare, and Almega Utbildning.

The entire organization is based on creating conditions for students to develop and providing support in this process. Students need not only knowledge to succeed now and in the future.
